Maira Simental, MD Appointed Medical Director of St. Bernardine Radiation therapy Center
Mnahattan Beach, Calif. (October 10, 2005) – Maira Simental, M.D., has been appointed Medical Director of Vantage Oncology at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino.
Prior to her duties as Medical Director for the San Bernardino Radiation Therapy Center and staff physician for Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group, Dr. Simental was an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calififornia. As an active community member and resident of San Bernardino, Dr. Simental has participated in educational cancer outreach programs and was recently featured on “Ask Your Doctor,” a national radio show informing listeners about radiation oncology. |

“I am looking forward to working with an experienced team of radiation oncology experts who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for their patients,” said Dr. Simental. “In addition, I hope to establish a larger role in the community as an educator on radiation cancer treatments available to patients.”
Dr. Simental earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at La Sierra University in Riverside, and a doctor of medicine degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Dr. Simental completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the San Bernardino County Medical Center and her residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Simental specializes in the treatment of gynecologic, breast, lung, brain, head and neck cancers.
